Founded in 2012, The Woodlands Chamberfest is a summer music camp dedicated to teaching communication, collaboration, and leadership through chamber music. We introduce middle- to high-school age students to the experience of rehearsals and performances in a small ensemble, with daily coachings, workshops and private lessons.
Working closely in groups of three to six without a conductor, students are guided with coaching to prepare and perform a piece of music in 5 days. More than just preparing to perform, our students learn and practice the art of collaboration: how to communicate, listen, respond, compliment, critique, and cooperate with each other.
Chamber music is not just an essential part of being a musician, but a honing of skills needed in all areas of life. The Woodlands Chamberfest provides a rewarding musical experience to inspire students to continue their musical studies and further explore the diverse and significant role that they have as artists within a community.
